The cupcakes themselves are made from a boxed white cake mix to which sour cream, vegetable oil, buttermilk, vanilla extract and eggs are added. The frosting is simple as well, a “whipped topping” made from cream cheese, whipping cream and several other ingredients. The fruit in the name of the recipe goes right on top of the frosting.
